The Dordogne is a picturesque region named for the Dordogne river, the principal river in this Department. Also called Perigord, this region is famous for prehistoric cave paintings, ancient Roman remains, reconstructed castles and elegant chateaux. We also visit the famous and beautiful medieval city of Sarlat, medieval cliff dwellings and fortified towns and churches.
